Happy Birthday Mommy

This is Mackenzie posting because today is my Mom's birthday!

Here's a poem for your special day:

I Love You Mom
© Lyndsey Romjue
You brighten up my life,
With tender love and care,
When I reach out
You're always there.

You're someone I can count on,
When I need a helping hand,
You're warm and loving,
You always understand.

I'm so thankful to have
A mom like you,
There is no other,
Who could fill your shoes.

I always took for granted,
That you were there for me,
And all the things you did,
But now I see.

You're such a good example,
Of what a mom should be,
We always get along so well,
Even when we disagree.

You're so patient,
And understanding;
You don't ask for anything,
You're outstanding.

You're so quick to give,
And such a joy to be around,
You're such a good person,
You deserve a special crown.

You have a good heart,
You're honest and true,
You're the best mother,
And I really love you.

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas from the Jones Family!  Our morning was filled excitement as the kids got to see what Santa brought them!

Mackenzie got an adaptor to be able to listen to the music on her  iPhone in the car

Madalyn got mocassins from Steve Madden
Trevor got a razor to ride around on

Meredith got an iTouch

Trevor was probably most excited about getting deodorant in his stocking!  He had to tell everyone.  When asked why he said it was probably because they could smell him in the North Pole!!

Meredith's handmade gift for her Dad!

After we were done opening presents we went to my Aunt Debbie's for dinner.  It was a nice time with family.

Meredith and Trevor each gave us handmade gifts this year.  We LOVED them both!  Handwritten notes are my favorite from the kids!!

Les Miserable premiered on Christmas Day so we decided to brave the crowds and go see it in the evening.  It was great!  Not as powerful as the stage show, but they did a great job adapting it to the big screen.  The only one who did not like it was Scooter...in his own words "I took one for the family"!

Christmas Eve with the Jones

We spent a traditional Christmas Eve with the Jones side of the family.  Randy and Cathy hosted at their home this year.  Becca and Derek are in town for the holidays so it was great to spend time with them!  Becca made these cute name cards for the table and Randy prepared some yummy prime rib!

After dinner the cousins acted out the nativity story which is a highlight for the youngest cousins!  Meredith was thrilled to be Mary.  Trevor loved being Joseph, he kept trying to take baby Jesus from Mary so he could hold the baby! Such a tender boy!

After dinner and nativity Becca planned some Minute to Win it Christmas games!  We had a great time competing against each other!  Below are Ryan and Randy trying to shake the jingle bells out of the tissue boxes!

The human chain.....

Throw the rings on the antlers...

Color the picture of the reindeer with no hands...

Design a snowman....and pick up the candy canes....

Transfer the ornaments with a straw....

Stick a red nose on your own nose with no hands....

We ended the evening with some cousin pictures..
Here are the 5 month apart twins....

Christmas Season

Here is a highlight of some Christmas festivities:

Meredith's 3rd Grade Christmas Party...she LOVES this snowman hat and wore it all day!!

Our family won the "ugly Christmas sweater" Contest at our Ward Christmas Party! We have candy came Christmas trees to prove it!

We went to visit Santa at the Disneyland Hotel at Downtown Disney.  Unfortunately Mackenzie had to babysit.

We went to see the lights at the Los Angeles Temple.  They were so beautiful!  This was also our first time to the redesigned visitors center and boy was it amazing!!

Merry Grinchmas!

This holiday season has been non stop for everyone in our family so we decided to take an activity detox day and escape to Universal Studios and see the Grinchmas Display.  It is super cute!  The Whoville people's makeup and costumes are amazing!

Plus there is an area with real snow that was fun to play around in.

It was a fun day with the family that ended with a night at the Los Angeles Temple (picture to follow in a later post).

Trevor is deathly afraid of "Chuckie" so I had to take a picture of him while going through the haunted maze.  Trevor did not go through the maze...luckily as there was an entire room dedicated to Chuckie!

Be Clever Vote for Trevor

Trevor decided to run for Vice President at his school this year.  His slogan was "Be Clever, Vote Trevor".  He did a great job on his poster and wrote his speech all by himself.

Here is his speech (imagine it being said with lots of personality!):

Hello my name is Trevor Jones and I am running for vice president. I know you guys are thinking I`m going to be like I’m so responsible it will blow your socks off, but no I`m all about having fun but learning interesting facts while you have out of this world fun. (But I am responsible too.) oh and you guys are all clever but you can be even more clever by voting for me, Trevor. So when its time for you to vote just remember to be clever and vote for Trevor!

Trevor did not win, but he had lots of trying!

Singers Company

Meredith had her Annual Singers Company Performance this past week.  She had so much fun as being part of the older girl group!

Her director, Katie Parker, is absolutely amazing and does a wonderful job with these girls!

Meredith's solo this year was her best ever.  Even after the performance was over Katie recognized it as the "best solo of the night".  We love to watch Meredith perform!

Below is what I call an "Awkward Family Photo"!
