The day before Trevor's 10th birthday Great-Grandpa, Great-Grandma Dickison and Deeanna came down the took Trevor to Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor to celebrate!

He had lots of fun with his pet parrot and loved being sung to!

His favorite...chocolate chip cookie dough with carmel topping!

Every morning Trevor is the first one up...his routine is to go downstairs, wrap up in a blanket and sit in  a specific spot on the couch.  Sweet Meredith made sure to get up extra early to set him up a special spot!

Before church he opened his presents..notice the Olympic Cycling on in the background!

Grandpa Beeney got him a car magazine since they both share an enthusiasm for cars!

Then Dad sent him on a treasure hunt for his new surfboard!  He was so excited!
He was able to take it out the next day and go night surfing!

After church Randy, Cathy and the kids came over for dinner and cake.

Now that there are a "double digit" amount of candles on his cake he had a to take an extra big breath!

His sweet friend (and pseudo twin brother) Chris brought Trevor over a bag of candy and movie certificate.  I think we will use it to see 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' together!

Happy 10th Birthday Trevor!!

Happy birthday to our favorite son...he LOVES it when we say that! He has finally made it to the double digits!

Ten years ago today our family was blessed with the long awaited arrival of
Trevor Ryan Jones.
We tried many years to conceive, Danielle experienced many painful shots and procedures, we experienced lots of "sorry your not pregnant" calls from the doctor and spent everyone's college education fund...every bit of it was WORTH IT!!  What a blessing you have been to our family...your tender hearted, sensitive to Heavenly Fathers Spirit, cuddly, athletic, super funny, a great singer/pianist, gassy (oops did we just say that??) and talkative!

Trevor was obsessed with horses his first 4 years of life!

Three years old in Kauai...Hang Loose!

These two could be twins, but they are not, they are best buddies!

Trevor loves to see how high he can jump.  He loves to jump over barriers to "catch some air"!
Surfing is his newfound love!
He discovered Flag football this past year and loved  it!

Looking classy in this bow tie Mackenzie bought him!

Mormon Battalion

I love that we live so close to a Church Historical site.  After a fun day of slip and slide with some friends we decided to run down to Old Town San Diego and visit the Mormon Battallion.  I love watching the movie and the younger two love panning for "gold"!

Trevor got to participate in part of the program and dress like a soldier:

JAC Surf Camp

A few Young Men in our ward, who love to surf, started a surf camp this summer.  Trevor participated in their very first camp and had a blast!  The instructors taught the kids all about safety, what to do in a rip tide, surf etiquette, paddling and all the basics of surfing.  After the first day at camp Trevor's first words out of his mouth were "Mom I want a surfboard for my birthday instead of an electric scooter!"

The love for surfing continued throughout the rest of the week!

On the third day he said "Mom I wish we lived in a beach house so I could do my homework then surf until it was time for dinner".  I guess we have a surfer in our house now!

Keith..one of the instructors told me that Trevor has natural ability and is a fantastic surfer.  I was able to hang out at the beach on one of the days and witnessed his ability.  He was able to paddle with enough strength and stand up right away to catch the waves.  He was independent out there..not requiring help from the instructors.

Don't mind the "Roxy" wet suit...it was the only one we had...a boy with sisters is very comfortable with his masculinity!

EFY Santa Barbara

Mackenzie and Madalyn went to EFY in Santa Barbara this week.  They both decided to go without a room mate this year to see how they would like it.  They both loved going "alone"and meeting new people!  They took the train from San Juan Capistrano to Santa Barbara with some friends who were also attending EFY the same week.

They said the train was super fun!

Here they are just before the train left....

I do not have any of Mackenzie's pictures on my computer so here are some of Madalyn's.  Her group was the "Peace Seekers".

While the girls were away Ryan and I finally put up the vinyl saying that Mackenzie wanted for her birthday.  It is a quote from President Dieter Uchtdorf:

"Be strong and of good courage.  You are truly royal spirit daughters of almighty God.  You are princesses destined to become queens.  Your own wondrous story has already begun.  Your once upon a time is now!"

Root Root Root for the Angels!!

Our Family loves to go to the Angel Games!  Here are a few pictures from recent games.  One of the games we were able to sit in the second row on the third base line....it was a great game!!

For Father's Day we gave Ryan and Grandpa Wright tickets to the game so we could all go together!

July 4th Ladera Style

July 4th started with our annual tradition of homemade ice cream!!

Then Trevor's cub scout troop participated in Ladera's parade following the 5K race:

The parade was lots of fun!  Reminded me of how thankful I am to live in a free country and grateful I am to live in Ladera Ranch.  We really do live in a small community surrounded my large communities.  I love how family oriented our part of town is!

Eat more Chickin'

Love that this girl dressed up like the "Big Red Bucket" Water park!  Everyone in their neighborhood dressed up like one of the Ladera landmarks...so cute!

Our troop!  Preceded by some of their sisters in the pink Barbie Jeep!

We did non traditional things on the 4th this year because it was so cold outside!  We went and bought some iPhones then went to the movies to see "Spiderman".  We concluded the evening with a yummy rib dinner and fireworks in the street and at our Bishop's house.  Ladera knows how to put on a great firework show!
