Another one bites the dust....

It was Madalyn's turn to get her wisdom teeth out!  We were hoping to wait until next year so we did not have to pay cash ($3100) for wisdom teeth in one year, however they were really hurting her so we could not put it off.   However with her busy summer girls camp, Ecuador, Youth Conference, Wedding in Utah and tennis try outs she was really limited on her time to be able to get them out.  So the day after girls camp I drove her to Dr. Spoolstra's office and he took them out!  We are blessed to have family in the business!
Here we are waiting to go back...
Getting Prepped to be put to sleep...nighty night!  She was not nervous at all!

 During the surgery...

After it was all over Grandma took good care of Madalyn.  Madalyn kept her entertained with her funny comments!  From thinking the doctor cut out her tongue, to being worried about the pulseox on her finger and to making sure Dr. Spoolstra knew he loved her!  She was hilarious!

Grandma took full advantage of the situation and kept telling her she loved her and Madalyn would always reply back "I love you too Grandma?"  (with enthusiasm)
She did great with the entire procedure and has enjoyed some down time recovering after a busy week at camp!

Stand with HIM

This year girls camp was at Pilgrim Pines by Yucaipa.  The girls all had a great time!  This was Mackenzie's last year and of course she lived it up!  Madalyn came home exhausted after a fun week in the "party cabin"!  Ryan was once again the male priesthood holder that got to go for an exciting week with hundreds of girls!  He loves spending the time with his girlies!  However I am not sure the girls and their leaders appreciated the Bear prank he pulled on them!!  It was a week filled with lots of laughter, fun games, great speakers, spiritual experiences and testimonies!

Group shot before they left

The theme was was "Stand with Him"
Lots of letters written to those missionaries from our Stake serving a full time mission right now!

This silly girl is 16 today!!
Look out everyone!  Madalyn can Date and Drive now!  We love her for so many reasons...her funny "Madalynisms", her strength, her easy going personality, her testimony of the gospel, her beautiful smile and ability to do hard things!

HEFY Preparations

In less than a month Madalyn will be heading out to Cuenca, Equador to work on a Humanitarian Project for 2 1/2 weeks.  To prepare she had to go to the Public Health Department in Santa Ana to get "protected" from diseases.  This place is a less than desireable place to be!  YIKES!!

She was dreading the thought of getting a shot in what seems like an unsterile environment.  She lucked out.....only had to take a series of pills for Typhoid.  She was so happy :)!

Little does she know the unsanitary conditions ahead of her! We are so proud of her making this decision to help work and build an orphanage!
