Car's Land at California Adventure

California Adventure opened a new section of the park dedicated to the movie Cars called Car's Land.  There was lots of media hype around the opening of this new park so when it opened in June the park was packed!!!  We knew to avoid the park during the opening.  One of the new rides...a fast car ride called Radiator Springs average line wait time was 5 hours... ridiculous!!

Then an opportunity presented itself via my step brother Scott.  He and his family had come to town with three day passes and were only able to use two of the days so he gave our family six passes.  We had to use them within a week and were nervous we would not find the time because that week happened to be the last week of school when here were tons of "end of the school year" activities.
So the girls went by themselves after school on Tuesday and said it was PACKED!!!  However as you can see from the pictures they managed to have a great time despite the crowds!

Are you sure they are sisters???

Rapunzel from Tangled..their favorite!!!
On Friday Ryan was able to take the day off and we took Trevor and Meredith while the girlies went waterskiing for our Youth's Super Activity.  We got there 30 minutes before California Adventure opened so we could walk directly to Cars Land and get in line for Radiator Springs.  There was a huge line for fast passes and we were told that the line would take about one hour to get the fast pass (let alone wait another hour or so to ride it at our assigned time) so we decided to just forgo the fast pass and go directly to the line.  It paid off!  The ride was not working for the first 40 minutes, but we decided to stay in line.  It paid off...we waited 1 hour and 40 minutes and were able to ride the ride.  It did not disappoint!  It was a blast!

With the revamp of Cars Land main street had a makeover too.  They added these great Trolley Cars like the ones in San Francisco.

Here we are on Radiator Springs ready to go!

I decided to be 12 again and photo bomb their picture!

California Screamin'
We had the best day ever!  Both of the parks were pretty empty.  We spent the first half of the day at CA Adventure, took the monorail to Downtown Disney to watch the movie "Brave" then spent the second half of the day at Disneyland and also got front row seats to the firework show (without waiting)!

Mile High Pines

Stake girls camp was at Mile High Pines this year.  Mackenzie was a Youth Camp Leader.  Ryan was able to attend as the male Priesthood holder.  The girls LOVE having him go to camp and share the experience with them so they were so happy when he was asked to go!

The girls had a blast!  Here is a sampling of some of the crazy pictures they took while there.  There were a ton of crazy pictures!

During camp some of the YCL's acted out the story of the Ten Virgins.

Fun kayaking and ropes course!

Crazy secret sister gifts!

Skit night!

Scout Camp

Trevor and Meredith had the opportunity to go to Scout Camp this year.  Meredith went to "girl scout camp" and Trevor went to "cub scout camp".  Both had such a fun time!

Birthday Beach Day

This was an "off" birthday party year for Madalyn.  We have a friend party every other year and next year she will have a big 16th birthday party.  However with her birthday on a Saturday she needed to do something fun so she invited just a few friends to come to the beach with her.

However before those pictures here are a few of her opening her cards/gifts from her Grandparents:

 Now onto the Beach!

The girls went to Balboa Pier and ate at Ruby's then hung out on at the beach for the day.
Here they are when we first got there:

Yummy food at Ruby's:

For anyone who knows Madalyn you know that she does not like to draw attention to herself so when six waiters came out singing to her she was so embarrassed!  It made her happy and giggly!

Here the girls are posing....

Most of the time this is where you could find the girls....they love to talk!

They did decide to try the water out, but it was cold sooo....

This was as wet as they got then they went and laid back in the sand :).

It was a perfect day...the weather, the food, the company...Happy Birthday Madalyn!

Happy 15th Birthday Madalyn Nicole!!!

Today Madalyn turns 15 years old...holy cow!  Where has the time gone?  I still remember laying in the delivery room being so upset because I had to have an emergency C-Section after 12 hours of labor.  Then the second the doctors delivered her the feeling of unconditional love for Madalyn was so strong.  I could not wait to get all sewn back together to be able to hold her.  It was almost midnight before I got back to my room and I insisted that she be brought to my room because the anticipation was killing me!  She was probably the most beautiful baby in the nursery!

Fifteen years later I know she was and still is the most beautiful girl (inside and out).  She is so funny...she fills our home with "Madalynisms"!  She is sensitive to the Spirit, has a strong testimony of our Savior, is a great tennis player and is willing to help others out.

Youth Super Activity

Mackenzie and Madalyn got to go waterskiing, water surfing and tubing for our Youth's Ward Super Activity today.  They went to El Capitan, had three boats and tons of fun!

The only picture the girls got was one of Mackenzie water surfing.  This was her first time and she loved it!!!

Trevor's Famous!!

Our school districts Superintendent, Dr. Farley, adopted Trevor's 4th grade class this past year.  He would come visit his classroom, read to the class, be a "teacher of the day" in his class and send correspondence to them.  He was great and the students really admired him!

Our district has a new office and also has no money in the budget for "fancy" artwork on the walls of this new building.  So Dr. Farley had a great idea!  He asked students from San Juan Hills High School Photography class to come take pictures of the kids in Trevor's class, enlarge the photos and hang them in the district office.  What an honor!  To top it off Dr Farley had a bus bring Trevor's class to the district and he gave them a tour of the entire building so the could see their pictures.

Here is Dr. Farley giving the students information about our district.

Here is the first picture of Trevor.  It is located on the first floor entry way.

Here is the entire gallery in the entry:

He was also in the main entrance to the second floor:

If you are ever visiting the Capistrano Unified School District office be sure to look for Trevor!
