Rock Band and 18th Birthday Celebration

Happy 18th birthday Mackenzie!  Today you become an "adult".  We love you and are so proud of the things you have accomplished in your life so far and look forward to watching you grow as you go to college and live on your own for the first time!

Mackenzie has been taking a commercial music class at her high school.  The class is broken up into mini bands in which each month those in the group have to learn a new song based on a given theme. They can pick the song, but it needs to fall into the theme.  Mackenzie LOVES this class as she LOVES music!  She learned how to play the bass and she also performed some vocals.  The teacher chose the two best bands in their class to perform for the entire school during lunch.  Mackenzie's group was picked and their performance date was 2/12/14.....her birthday!!  She was so excited.  I was excited she wanted me to come and watch.
I WAS AMAZED!!!
They were so good!  They performed Baracuda, I'm Just a Girl and Tightrope.

The band: Brett, Mackenzie, Cassie and Tyler

SJHHS Winter Formal 2014

The girls High School Winter Formal this year was girl ask guy.  So my girls had fun coming up with clever ways to ask the boy of their choice to the formal!  Mackenzie asked a boy from school named Kyle. They have been friends for a few years and she knew she would have a fun time!  The theme was Great Gatspy so Mackenzie decided to dress the theme. Her group met down at Dana Point Harbor for pictures then took a party bus to the venue in Anaheim.

Mackenzie and her good friend Maddie

Madalyn asked a boy she has known since she was 7 years old.  His name is Garrett and they had fun together.  There are a lot of boys and girls her age at church and school so they had a group of about 40 kids who all met at a field in Ladera for pictures, had dinner at the Lewis' home and then took a party bus to the dance.  After the dance the Lewis' hosted a dessert bar also.  It was a great night!

Mission Viejo Winter Formal

Mackenzie and Stephen Facer went to his formal for Mission Viejo High School together.  They had a lot of fun!  Looking at these pictures they look more like siblings that "friends".  We are lucky there are good gentlemen out there who respect our daughters!
