Meredith started her first day of preschool today!! Last night I picked out a super cute pink and white outfit for her to wear on her first day of school, however to my surprise she insisted on wearing this metallic blue pony tail holder. Thus I had to change the whole outfit to match this metallic blue- not easy when she has nothing that color! Luckily it was Patriot Day today so I decided to dress her in last years 4th of July outfit (so much for that cute "first day of school" outfit!).
She did great going into the class, putting her lunch in her cubby and started working on puzzles (her favorite) right away. We were so happy that she adapted to the classroom so easily. It helps that she has the same teacher (Mrs. Lloyd) as Trevor had for the past two years! We look forward to seeing her grow and become even more independent!
In the meantime, she is in the other room throwing a tantrum because Trevor will not call her "princess" LOL!!! Apparently she must of had a big day with preschool, park and playdate and is now exhausted!! Boy it is tough being three (smile)!
I now officially have 2 1/2 hours to myself twice a week. This is the first time for me to be home during the day without any children in 11 1/2 years- WOW! Hopefully I will get out of physical therapy in the next month so I can actually do something that I want during that time!

First Day of School
This week the kids went back to school. It is a big year for us as Mackenzie is starting Middle School, Trevor is starting Kindergarten, Madalyn is the big 5th grader on campus, and Meredith will start preschool for the first time. Needless to say it is a hectic year for mom with four different school times! Unfortunately Meredith's classroom is not ready yet so she will not start for another week or two- I will post pictures of her first day! In the meantime she is terribly bored with all her siblings gone in the morning hours!! Anyone need a playdate??!!??
The kids all had a great first day! They all have wonderful teachers this year and so we are excited about that!
Here is a picture of Mackenzie with her good friend Cassie on the Middle School side of campus!

Big Orange Balloon
Standing infront of the balloon before we take a ride
Here it is in the air at 10,000 feet elevation
Madalyn and I taking in the sights!
This is our "after" shot!
Here we are loading the hot air balloon.
So, as many of you know, the Irvine Company is building this "Great Park" for the community to enjoy for many years to come on the old El Toro Marine base. We have been reading about the "Big Orange Balloon" - that is the first attraction at the park. By first I mean that there is absolutely nothing else to do there (unless you want to check out the hundreds of motorhomes being stored on the base!). Since the rides are free until the first of the year we took advantage of the great deal. It was a fun experience to say that we "did it", but I would have to say that I am glad that we did not spend $20 a person to ride!
After we went to the Spectrum for some lunch at Cheesecake Factory-yum, shopping, and some fun playtime in the fountains! Then we ran home to take a dip in the pool. A fun day for the last day of summer as school officially begins tomorrow....so I guess I better go and start on all those lunches!
