Anyone notice something wrong with this sign? As I was hanging it up Ryan pointed out that it was spelled wrong. I am sure the kind person in China putting this together thought we pronounced "Hollywood" "Ollywood" :o)!!

Mackenzie had her "friend" party last Saturday night. Since it was her golden birthday (12 on the 12th) she wanted a gold theme. What a better gold theme than the Academy Awards! All the girls came dressed in their best, walking the red carpet, a fancy meal, skit time, games and lots of fun. The best part was their "acceptance speeches" during dinner. As they each held their Ocsar and thanked the Academy for their award- it was pretty hilarious!

Happy 12th Birthday Mackenzie!!

I cannot believe it was 12 years ago tonight that Ryan and I became parents for the first time! We had no idea what we were in for! The past 12 years have gone by fast and it is amazing the beautiful young woman Mackenzie has become. Yes- YOUNG WOMAN- she is officially part of the youth group at church! She has been attending mutual for the past three weeks as she has been practicing Roadshow. What a great way to be initiated into the youth program! We are so proud of the person Mackenzie is- she is confident, intelligent, talented, helpful, a leader, etc etc....

Tonight we had a birthday dinner with Grandma and Grandpa Wright, Great- Grandma and Great-Grandpa Dickison, Aunt Deeanna, Scooter, Uncle Randy, Rachel and Dallin at Lonestar! It was so great that everyone was able to travel 40 minutes on the freeway on a Tuesday night. She got lots of great presents- rainbow sandals, scripture stickers, ipod dock, flowers, joke book, money, gift certificates, and a shopping day with mom. Yes- she is VERY SPOILED! Her friend Cassie even brought her a donut to school for breakfast. Mackenzie had a great day and felt really loved by her family and friends!

President Hinkley's passing

Last night I had all the primary teachers in our ward over for an inspirational teacher development night. It was a great evening and I appreciated all those teachers who came. During the breakout session of the meeting we got notice of President Gordon B. Hinkley's passing. He passed away at 7:00 p.m. incident of old age. He was the 15th President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have really had a special liking to him. I remember when I was a young adult I was singing at a fireside that he was going to be speaking at (he was the first counselor in the first presidency at the time). I just so happen to sit directly behind him on the stand. He and his wife turned around before the fireside started and talked directly to me- yes me- I felt so loved! He and his wife were so personable and funny- talking about their love of ice cream at night. I will always remember that experience! MANY YEARS later my second daughter Madalyn was born on his birthday ( June 23rd). Madalyn has always prided herself on having the same birthday as the prophet. Good bye President Hinkley! Now you are reunited with your lovely wife! We will miss you!

Happy 4th Birthday Meredith!!

Meredith was born four years ago today. I cannot believe how much she has grown! She started out at 4 lbs. 10 oz. and 16 inches long and now she is the biggest one of all her friends! She has brought so much joy to our family!

On Sunday we had her family party. We included Uncle Randy in the party because his birthday is the 5th- no year disclosure :o)!! Here are some more cupcakes I made:

Happy Wii Year 2008

We spent new years with our friends the Clarkes. The intention was so we could compete against eachother with Guitar Hero III. However it became obviously clear that the Clarke's had much more practice time than the Jones'. In otherwords- we lost BIG TIME!!!! Luckily we moved onto some other games!
It was a great night- Meredith was the only one who could not stay awake- she fell asleep around 10:45 p.m.- we were impressed she stayed awake that long :o)!

The rest of New Years Day consisted of laying around in our jammies watching the Rose Parade until 11:00 a.m. then taking down the Christmas lights and decorations. In the evening we met up with my parents at Knott's Chicken House for dinner. It was a great way to spend the first day of the year! May 2008 bring all of you much success, happiness, and blessings!

Happy Birthday to me!

Okay so this is not the most attractive picture, but I did not have anything to choose from since I am always the one taking the pictures! We enjoyed a nice day today with my parents, grandparents and nephew. They came over after church to help us eat left over mexican food from a party we had last night. For dessert we had a wonderful sampling of Sprinkles Cupcakes that Ryan picked up for us yesterday- yum! It was nice to be able to have a small gathering and be able to have time to sit and talk to my grandparents while my parents and husband cleaned up!
